Jeff Stum is a 20 year veteran of the adult beverage industry and leads Bond PR's marketing and PR initiatives within this industry. Jeff has worked at each tier of the wine and spirits industry and has developed a keen understanding of the nuances involved in selling and marketing adult beverages. From brand creation to developing, implementing, and executing concepts and programs, to the nuts and bolts of everyday distributor and sales channel management, all the way through realizing consumer brand adoption, Jeff has seen and experienced it all.
Jeff's wine and spirits career began while still in college. He bartended part time and worked full time as a manager of a retail spirits shop while attending Western Kentucky University. After graduating in 1992 with a Corporate and Organizational Communications degree, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona. The Glazer Distributor in Arizona hired Jeff on as a merchandiser and after 2 months he was an off premise route salesperson. Within 3 months Stum was running the high profile Scottsdale area route. In 1994, Brown Forman introduced Tropical Freezes into the Phoenix market as one of 4 test markets. Jeff's territory stood out in the test market and in 1995 he was offered a position in Dallas managing Brown Forman's introduction of Tropical Freezes in the Texas and Louisiana.
From 1997 to 2001 Jeff managed various Brown Forman Spirit Portfolio's in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. In 2001 Jeff was offered the opportunity to move back to Kentucky and into Brown Forman's marketing headquarters to help manage Southern Comfort. From October of 2001 to May of 2006 Jeff took on various roles of increasing responsibility on the Southern Comfort marketing team. During this tenure Southern Comfort realized both profit and volume growth annually. Perhaps, Jeff's proudest achievement was the establishment of the music and event marketing platform still in use by the Southern Comfort team to this day.
In May of 2006 Jeff left Brown Forman to form Grey Earp Consulting to develop brands and consult with those wanting to develop gourmet food and beverage items. Jeff has consulted with and/or has an ownership stake in a series of small start up brands including: FOUR malt beverage, Havana Cola, Rudy Green's Doggy Cuisine, Bourbon Barrel Foods, and Rooibee Red Tea. He still keeps his hand in the event world as well occassionally producing events and negotiating sponsorships.
