NOLA

Opportunity

Post-Katrina New Orleans has seen an incredible influx of new people and new ideas, bent on rejuvenating the city. We used this as an opportunity to harness the power of the "new" New Orleans in fostering an image of the city as a hub for innovation, creativity and the entrepreneurial spirit. Working closely with The Idea Village, Start Up New Orleans, Greater New Orleans, Inc., The Downtown Development District and a group of committed, passionate entrepreneurs, Bond PR set out on a mission to mold positive perceptions of the City of New Orleans as a great place to live and work.

Program Components

  • Ongoing Media Relations - We continue to support the initiative by cultivating relationshps and securing media coverage with the business, entrepreneurial, local and mainstream media.
  • Issue Management - In response to such issues as the Hurricane Katrina Anniversaries, the Saints Superbowl win and the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, we leveraged the increased spotlight on New Orleans as an opportunity to highlight regional positives and the "new normal" in New Orleans.
  • Owned Events - During TribeCon, TEDxNOLA and the Idea Village's New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, we crafted messaging for the young professionals visiting New Orleans, immersing them in the "new" New Orleans and effectively recruiting them as ambassadors for the city.
  • Event Participation - For events such as SIGGRAPH, Voodoo Fest and SXSW, we used booths, panel participation and media interviews as an opportunity to communicate the viability of New Orleans as location for new careers and new business.
